Stair Wedge Machines for preassembled stairs: Both machines are prototypes built and ran but never completed due to death. Devices are self-contained, operate on 240v single or three-phase, uses SMC pneumatics @100#, Square D PLC controlled, 3 Hp Perske saw motor and controller for 6000rpm, fully automatic, 6 -11” wedge length at any angle, thickness ¾” to 1½”. The machines work off a continuous feed system from the hopper stacked blanks, either 2x12, 5/4x12 or 1x8. Keep feeding the stack, and it fills an inclosed 30-gallon barrel then shuts off when complete. It works next to the cutoff saw, producing 15 wedges per minute or 900 per hour. Bessie is 90% complete, Susie is 70%. (Story behind the serial numbers.) All programs and parts are with each machine. A dust system is not required. Dust and scrap drop into the barrel. Machines are self-contained, ³⁄₁₆” unibody steel construction painted Deep Marrone. Some wiring and fine-tuning of the program are necessary. As prototypes, they never sold, never used in production, builders died during construction.
