SCOPE OF SUPPLY
Gas-fired hicon/n2 high convection bell annealer facility, type hog 430/250
st-n2-d, to anneal steel wire coils in straight nitrogen atmosphere. The
facility consists of the following main parts:
(2) HEATING BELL WITH GAS FIRING
Welded steel plate shell reinforced with steel sections, and with
reinforced roof for shifting by crane
Guide arms for positioning bell accurately
Sealing element around the rim of the heating bell to seal off the heating
chamber
Heating system, consisting of:
- high-velocity gas-fired burners
- fuel gas and combustion air supply lines,
- shut-off and control valves,
- electric ignition system,
- burner control system
- recuperator with thermal insulation plus ductwork and expansion joints to
preheat combustion air stack gas vented above roof)
- combustion air blower
- fuel gas metering system

(3) HIGH-CONVECTION WORKBASE
- Sturdy base frame welded up from steel sections and plates
- Water-cooled seal element to provide hermetic seal when inner cover is
placed on workbase
- Heat-resistant high-capacity atmosphere recirculation fan, including
bearings and variable frequency drive controlled motor (water- cooled) with
thermistors
- Hydraulic clamping elements to secure inner cover, plus hydraulic lines
and valve block
- Guide posts to ensure exact positioning of heating bell, cooling bell
and inner cover
- Automatic couplings for fuel gas, control medium, manual couplings for
electricity and control lines
(3) VALVE STANDS
To supply utilities to workbases
- Welded steel section frame plus piping for the components listed
- Components for atmosphere, such as ball valves, solenoid valves, automatic
shut-off valves, differential pressure transmitters, turbine-type inferential
meters, flowmeters, pressure switches, furnace pressure transmitters and
connection point for atmosphere sampling
- Water components such as shut-off valves, control valve, safety valve,
flowrate supervisor and coupling
- Workload space pressure control with pressure transmitter, ball valve
with actuator, etc.
- CO2 control valve with electronic supervision
(3) INNER COVERS
- Heat-resistant alloy steel plate cover (material code 1.4828), gas
tight welded, with concave corrugations
- Cylindrical baffle suspended inside inner cover
- Water-cooled sealing flange to fit onto workbase gas-tight
- Guide arms for positioning bell accurately
- Lifting lugs for crane attachment

CONTROL PANELS, CONTROL STATIONS
All PLC components required for controlling and supervising the entire
facility are installed in the control panels.
CENTRAL OPERATING SYSTEM/COS
The central operating system (COS) is provided for supervising and controlling
the whole facility. All relevant process data are read in from the PLC's via
a fast bus system and prepared for visualization, archiving and logging.
